Dearborn Optimist Club Sponsors Essay Contest

The Dearborn Optimist Club is encouraging Dearborn students to compose an essay based on the 2015 topic "Optimism Should Be A Priority".  The contest is open to all students under age 19 who have not yet graduated from high school.  Cash prizes are awarded to the top three Essay Contest entrees.  The Dearborn Optimist Club has participated in the Essay Contest for over 40 years. Here are the details:

Deadline for submission:   Monday, January 12, 2015


Students should contact the following teachers for official contest application submission:


Dearborn High School:  Ms. K. Malone, Ms. S. Dobbs

Edsel Ford High School:  Ms. G. Sullivan

Fordson High School: Ms. Gilliland and Ms. Dakhlallah

Advanced Technology Academy: Ms. S. Bowman

Divine Child High School:  Ms. K. Campagnoli

Prize awards:

1st place:  $500

2nd place:  $250

3rd place:   $125
