March 13th Luncheon and Oratorical Awards Presentation

The Dearborn Optimist Club held the Oratorical Contest on Thursday, March 7 at the Henry Ford Centennial Library with twelve entrants from Advanced Technology Academy and St. Sebastian Catholic School.  The topic for 2013 was "Why My Voice Is Important."  The top three girls and top three boys, their parents, teachers, and school principals were hosted at the March 13th luncheon meeting when the contestants again delivered their speeches to Club members.

The two first place winners, Tikia Houston and Daniel Orhorhoro, will go on to compete in the Regionals scheduled for Saturday, April 13th in St. Clair Shores.
