Regular Meeting September 26th

We had a busy meeting today, 

Guest Speaker Andrea Kuentz, Development Coordinator for Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter stopped by and gave us a round up of their activities and events including the 12th annual Black Tie and Tails Gala which will take place on October 26th 2012 at the Dearborn Inn, tickets for attendees are one hundred and seventy five dollars. Chester the rescue turned certified therapy dog will be making an appearance as well as some of the three hundred rescued animals and one hundred adoptable foster pets the shelter cares for.
Please come out and show your support for the great work they do.

We had a few visitors form the local schools, Advanced Technology Academy's Political Science Teacher Patricia Moroz attended the luncheon with a few of her students and plans to start a Jr. Optimist Club on the school's campus. A represenative on behalf of Dearborn Public School's Super Intendant Brian Whiston came out to show their support for the club.


Our 2012-13 officers have been announced many congratulations and thanks to them for stepping up to the tasks.

Secretary - Tara Perpich

Treasurer - Julie Turla

Also Lori Divis will continue on as chair of our annual essay contest.
