The Dearborn Optimist generally meet on the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month (see calendar below for dates).  The Wednesday meeting is a noon lunch format followed by a program. Annual Golf Outing


We are pleased to announce that the Annual Dearborn Optimist Golf Outing fund raising event to support scholarships for youth will take place on Sunday June 3, 2018. The event will again be held at Taylor Meadows Golf Club starting with a full breakfast at 7:00 am 18 holes of golf and concludes with dinner / awards in the afternoon.  

Several golf options are available including: Individual Entry, Foursome Entry, Corporate Entry.  In addition we are seeking sponsors.  We are pleased to announce that the 2018 Title Sponsor is UAW Ford and the Breakfast and Lunch sponsor is Victory Capital!  

All proceeds from this event go to supporting student scholarships including an Endowed Scholarship at Henry Ford College, Essay, Oratorical and Art Competitions and annual Public Safety Recognition / Awards.

1st Place:  $500 - Maria Vena, Freshman, Divine Child High School (Essay # 3)
2nd Place:  $250 - Nicholas Rachwal, Junior, Divine Child High School (Essay #16)
3rd Place:  $150 - Fatima Taj, Senior, Fordson High School (Essay #12)

The April meeting will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday April 11th at the Henry Ford College 5101 Restaurant.  The theme of this meeting is Art In Schools.  The winning entries will be presented at the meeting. 

The January meeting of the Dearborn Optimist will take place on Wednesday January 10 with a working lunch at M & M Café - 13714 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48126 beginning at 12:00 noon.  Free parking is available behind the Café in the public parking lot.  Meeting attendees can order food and beverage from the menu and be responsible for cost related to their order.  Please note that the M & M Café is cash only and does not accept credit cards. 

At 12:45 pm, directly following the lunch meeting a private docent led tour of the Arab American National Museum will take place.  Please note that the Arab American National Museumis located next door to M & M Café.  The museum tour is sponsored allowing no-cost admission for participants.

As always guests are encouraged and welcome to attend.
